Ryan Reynolds Reacts to Deadpool‘s Box Office Rivalry With Wife Blake Lively’s It Ends With Us
As Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are both experiencing box office hits with Deadpool & Wolverine and It Ends With Us, the Marvel star said they don’t experience feelings of rivalry.
“We help each other,” she told E! News at the It Ends With Us premiere Aug. 6. “He works on everything I do, I work on everything he does.”
The Gossip Girl alum added, “His wins, his celebrations are mine and mine are his.”
And getting the chance to promote their movies side by side has been a real joy. “It’s just so thrilling,” Blake, 36, shared. “It’s so surreal in our house right now.”
And while Blake had a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan jumped in for her movie’s marketing campaign, joining his mother Tammy Reynolds and BFF Hugh Jackman for an interview with his Blake’s It Ends With Us costar Brandon Sklenar.
“It’s not everyday the husband gets to interview his wife’s love interest in a film,” Ryan joked to Brandon during the interview posted Aug. 6. “It’s kinda crazy.”
But more than just their films, the duo are extremely proud of their off camera collaborations: daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4, and son Olin, born in 2023.
“It’s the best thing that ever happened to me,” Ryan said of his family on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast July 30.
“Embrace the chaos. We have four kids. Nothing’s going to be tidy ever again. It will, though, when they all leave the house.”
And the Marvel star was thankful to Blake for some words of wisdom she imparted on him when it came to the stress of parenting.
“My wife said to me, ‘They’re all under our roof right now,'” he recalled. “‘The whole family’s under our roof right now. We have them all.’ And that is a fleeting thing. Not an infinite resource. Embrace the chaos of it all.”
